General enquiries
Depending on what subscription you’ve selected, you will either receive a printed copy of your magazine through the post or with the digital subscription you would have online access to the magazine (which includes access to back issues!).
With a bundle subscription, you can receive the physical copy and the digital copy of the magazine, including the back issues.
All of our available offers are advertised on magazinesdirect.com and the offers can differ between the various magazines. Please note that all offers are subject to terms and conditions.
A trial subscription is offered for new subscribers. The trial subscriptions are not offered on every magazine and they are not offered all year round.
Trials are based on an auto-renewal arrangement, where once the trial period has ended (after 6 issues or 3 issues depending on the offer), the subscription will roll onto the standard subscription rate. You won’t receive notification of this, as the follow on price is included in your acknowledgment.
The benefit of a trial subscription is to allow a new customer to try out the magazine at a discounted rate to see if it’s something you are interested in before committing to the full rate. You have the option to cancel after the trial, but if you don’t, the subscription automatically renews.
A bundle provides both the printed and digital version of your chosen magazine. The benefits of a subscription bundle means that you will receive access to the content online while you’re waiting for delivery.

At the moment, back issues are only available on our Specialist Brands. However, we are working on making back issues available for our News and Wealth Brands later this year.

Yes, as the magazines are dispatched from the UK, there may be higher delivery costs to addresses outside of the UK. This information will be displayed in the price summary once you have provided your address details. The prices displayed include delivery costs and taxes (where applicable).
International deliveries vary depending on the country selected for delivery. For any European countries, delivery can take up to 5 working days and up to 6-7 working days for the rest of the world. ‘Naked issues’ are sent without any wrapping or in an envelope and have your address printed on the magazine cover.
‘Paper wrapping’ is when your magazine is covered in paper wrapping to cut down on plastics.
‘Plastic wrapping’ Our magazines that arrive in plastic wrapping can be also be LDPE recycled.

Alternatively, you can choose your start date when you place your order. The first available date is usually 8 weeks.
Yes, within 14 days of receiving your order we will write to confirm that your subscription has been included. The length of subscription, first issue delivery date and subscription number will also be confirmed as well.
In the case of a gift subscription, you will receive a gift card to send to the gift recipient.

Yes, issues can be downloaded for offline reading. This can be done via the IOS branded app (for Apple users) or the Pocketmags app (for Android users). You can view these issues offline by selecting the issue they wish to read and clicking ‘download.’
Please note this can’t be done in bulk and has to be done for each individual issue required.
Managing subscriptions
Yes, you can update your privacy preferences, change your address, renew your subscription and view delivery dates on our self-service subscription website, https://www.mymagazine.co.uk/
Customers who pay via Continuous Credit Card or Direct Debit will auto-renew so you don’t need to do anything to renew your subscription.
Customers who pay via Credit Card have several options to renew their subscription:
You can complete the order form attached to your renewal reminder letter and resend it to make payment - either by writing down your card details or sending in a cheque (please note supplying a cheque is only available for the UK).
Alternatively, you can switch to Direct Debit and provide your Direct Debit details.
You can also renew via the customer portal by using the "Manage My Subscription" option found at the top right of our website. Your renewal rate and offers will be automatically populated for you to chose from. Simply select the subscription you wish to renew. Once you have selected the subscription, you can click ‘View Renewal Offers’ where the rates will be visible. Once you have decided the offer you want, you can proceed through to the basket. You should then receive a renewal confirmation via email once this is complete.
Finally, you can also renew by contacting our Customer Support Team via their email, help@magazinesdirect.com. The opening times are Monday-Friday, 8.30am - 7pm, and Saturday, 10am - 3pm UK.
For customers who have paid by Continuous Credit Card or Direct Debit, the subscription will renew automatically depending on their payment term (typically 3, 6 or 12 months).
If you pay by Credit Card you will not automatically renew and will instead receive renewal reminders prompting you to renew by either phone, post or online. These renewal efforts typically include an option for a customer to switch to Direct Debit if preferred.

If your payment has failed, you will receive an email or letter alerting you to this. It will request that you either update your card details on MyMagazine (the Customer Portal, which can be accessed by using the "Manage My Subscription" option found at the top right of our website) or you can call the Customer Support Team to update your details and make a payment. This is the same for both Credit Card and Direct Debit failures.
You only need to contact your bank if the payment has failed at least 3 times, as it’s likely that although the details are correct, the bank may be blocking the transaction as suspected fraud.
You can edit your details via the customer portal by using the "Manage My Subscription" option found at the top right of our website. If it is your first-time logging in we additionally ask for Surname, Postcode, Country and Magazine to set up your account.

If your subscription comes with a free gift, please be advised that delivery can take up to 60 days after your first payment to arrive. Please be mindful that gifts are sent to mainland UK customers only. If your gift does not arrive within this timescale, please get in touch!
As we don't want to spoil the surprise for the receipent, all gift orders placed between October & December are automatically enrolled to start in the New Year. You will receive a 'gift card' to gift the recepient on Christmas Day. You can change this during the checkout process by changing your start date.
When we send you the written confirmation of your order, we will include a gift card for you to send to the gift recipient so that you can add your personal touch and retain the element of surprise. If you purchase more than one gift subscription you will receive a card for each recipient.
As a recipient of a gift subscription, you are entitled to cancel the subscription should you wish to not receive it. You, or the bill payer, can contact the Customer Services/Support/Care Team to cancel the subscription as normal.
Gift subscriptions will be shipped directly to the lucky recipient. Don’t worry – we won’t let them know it’s coming (we’d hate to ruin the surprise!)

2) Install the app designated to your magazine of choice from the App Store or Google Play. (e.g. for The Week readers in the UK, download "The Week Magazine UK" app)
3a) FOR IOS: Open the app and tap the cog or menu bar in the top corner. Select 'Account', then select 'Existing Subscriptions' and enter your Order Number.
3b) FOR ANDROID: Open the app and sign in by tapping the person icon in the top corner, then tap on 'Existing Subscriptions' and enter your Order Number in the account ID box.
Now you can download the current issue and start reading.
How we use your data
We use the personal information you provide (e.g. name, address, email address, credit card details) to process your subscription order. The online subscriptions order form will ask you about receiving details of our magazines and services and/or those of third parties which may be of interest to you.
Absolutely, on our website we use SSL software to encrypt your personal and payment details to ensure that your information is always kept secure. Our subscription bureau is PCI compliant level 1 which is the same level as a Bank.
From time to time we may store "cookies" (small files transmitted between server software and the browser on your computer) on your computer's hard drive to make your use of the online subscription process easier. The personal information you provide (e.g. name, address, e-mail address, credit card details) is stored on our secure server, not in a cookie.
